Six months after an Invest NI Trade mission to India, Training and Recruitment specialists, Rutledge Joblink have entered into partnership with a large training school network in South West India, which will help meet the demand of the expanding tourism in Dubai.
'This partnership is the perfect compliment to our existing business in Dubai and India, and whilst the negotiations have been ongoing since April this year, it has been worth the effort.' Said Rutledge Joblink Managing Director, Jonathan Doherty.
Rutledge Joblink specialise in temporary and permanent recruitment within the healthcare, industrial and international recruitment sectors as well as offering vocational training expertise in a range of occupations funded by the Department for Employment and Learning. They currently have 20 branches throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and have already established offices in Manilla and Dubai.
'Tourism and the hospitality industry is an integral part of the economic strategy for Dubai. Industry research for 2005 puts hotel occupancy in Dubai at 86% - that's higher than New York. There are currently over 200 4* and 5* hotel complexes under construction which underlines the regions popularity as the ideal year-round business and leisure destination.
With this growth comes a demand for staff - and staff qualified to a suitable standard. This new partnership means that we are able to meet that demand through the provision of in excess of 1,200 staff a year, trained to recognised British qualifications, and export them to Dubai' added Doherty.
Through the training schools in India, the trainees will be able to achieve recognised qualifications such as NVQs in Hospitality Service, covering a range of various disciplines, and will subsequently be placed on 3-year contracts.
Rutledge Joblink was one of 16 companies, which took part in a trade mission, led by Peter Hain MP in April 2006, and Doherty is quick to acknowledge the role played by Invest NI.
'Invest NI obviously played an important role in facilitating the initial meetings and there help throughout the whole process must be recognised. This is arguably one of our biggest contracts to date. It's a great boost for Rutledge Joblink, and helps us consolidate our position in the important growth areas of Dubai and India.'
